Emirates has confirmed that its flagship Airbus A380 will begin flying between Dubai and Delhi from 25 October 2026, operating as flights EK512 and EK513 in a four-class configuration alongside the airline's existing First, Business and Economy cabins. The move brings the world's largest passenger aircraft to Indira Gandhi International Airport on a route already served multiple times daily by the carrier's Boeing 777s.

Premium Economy across the whole Delhi schedule
Emirates says its three other daily Dubai-Delhi services, operated by retrofitted Boeing 777s, are also being upgraded to a four-class layout, meaning Premium Economy will become available across the airline's entire Delhi schedule once the changes are complete. The carrier has described the A380 addition as part of a broader Premium Economy rollout that, by October 2026, is set to extend the cabin to six Indian cities in total: Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Kochi.
Why it matters for Indian travellers
For travellers connecting onward through Dubai to Europe, the Americas or elsewhere in the Gulf, the change means more seats, and a wider mix of cabin options, on one of the busiest India-Gulf corridors. Premium Economy sits between Business and Economy in price and comfort, and its expansion to more Indian gateways gives fliers on a tighter budget than Business class a genuine step up over standard Economy for long-haul connections.
Traveller tips
- The A380 service is scheduled to begin 25 October 2026; confirm current flight numbers, aircraft type and cabin availability directly with Emirates or a travel agent before booking, since schedules and aircraft swaps can change.
- Premium Economy fares typically need to be booked as a distinct cabin class rather than an upgrade purchased at check-in, so compare fares at the time of booking.
- Passengers connecting through Dubai should check individual sector aircraft, since not every Delhi-Dubai flight will be operated by the A380 initially.
- Always verify current visa, baggage and check-in requirements on Emirates' official website ahead of travel.
