SWISS International Air Lines has confirmed it will launch nonstop flights between Zurich and Bengaluru from 25 October 2026, according to the airline's own newsroom announcement, becoming its first-ever service to the city and its third Indian destination alongside long-running routes to Delhi and Mumbai. The route will be flown five times a week using the airline's Airbus A350, running through the Northern Winter 2026/27 schedule to 27 March 2027.

Schedule and flight numbers
Eastbound flight LX 140 is scheduled to depart Zurich at 13:20 and land in Bengaluru at 02:55 the following day, a flight time of roughly nine hours. The return service, LX 141, departs Bengaluru at 04:50 and arrives in Zurich at 10:50 the same day. SWISS said the eastbound flight will operate daily except Mondays and Wednesdays, with the westbound service running daily except Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Why Bengaluru
SWISS chief executive Jens Fehlinger said the route responds to growing demand from the business community for direct flights to Bengaluru as a major technology hub, alongside leisure interest in southern India. The launch adds a third gateway for Indian travellers into SWISS's Zurich hub, with onward connections across the Lufthansa Group's European and North American network.
What to confirm before booking
As with any newly announced route, schedules, fares and aircraft assignment can shift between announcement and launch, and this article reflects SWISS's own newsroom announcement as of late September 2026. Readers should confirm the latest Zurich-Bengaluru schedule and fares directly with SWISS, and check current Swiss Schengen visa requirements for Indian passport holders, before booking.
Traveller tips
- Confirm the current Zurich-Bengaluru schedule and fares directly on SWISS's official booking channels ahead of the 25 October start date.
- The route operates five times a week, not daily, so check the specific days before planning travel dates.
- Indian passport holders need a Schengen visa arranged in advance for travel to Switzerland.
- Always verify current route and visa details with official sources rather than relying on early announcements alone.
