7 Most Instagrammable Spots in Procida, Naples Bay's Pastel Island
The smallest island in the Bay of Naples is a stack of pastel-coloured fishing houses over the water, with barely a fraction of Capri's crowds.

Procida, the smallest of the islands in the Bay of Naples, has none of Capri's scale or Ischia's spas, just a working fishing harbour ringed by tall, brightly rendered houses. Here are seven spots worth building a visit around, each with a direct map link.
1. Marina Corricella
Procida's oldest fishing harbour is a tumble of pink, yellow, and ochre houses stacked above the water, with fishing boats still pulled up on the slipways below.

2. Marina Grande
The main harbour, where the ferries dock, is lined with taller, equally colourful buildings and is the easiest first stop for an arrival shot.

3. Terra Murata
The island's highest and oldest quarter, a fortified hilltop village capped by the Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo, gives a wide rooftop view down over Corricella and the sea.
4. Palazzo d'Avalos
A former Bourbon royal residence later used as a prison, this long, ochre-walled palace above Corricella is closed to the public but is one of the island's most photographed silhouettes from below.
5. Spiaggia della Chiaiolella
A curved sandy beach at the island's quieter southern end, backed by low houses and small boats, is the spot for a slower, less architectural shot.
6. Vivara footbridge
A slender footbridge connects Chiaiolella to Vivara, a crescent-shaped former volcanic crater now a protected nature reserve, with open sea on both sides.
7. Via Roma
The lane running back from Marina Grande into the town centre is narrower and just as colourful as the harbourfront, with far fewer people stopping to photograph it.
Traveller tips
- Ferries and hydrofoils run from Naples and Pozzuoli; the crossing takes well under an hour.
- The island is compact enough to cover on foot or by local minibus in a single day, though an overnight stay avoids the day-tripper crowds.
- Corricella's best light is in the late afternoon, when the sun angles onto the harbour-facing walls.
- Book accommodation early for July and August, when Naples Bay ferries and the island's small hotels fill up fast.
