Noida International Airport Is Targeting Its First International Flights by October

Noida International Airport at Jewar, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 28 March 2026 and operational for domestic flights since 15 June 2026, is now working toward its next milestone: international service. Airport officials have said the international terminal is in its final construction phase, targeting completion around September or October 2026, though no airline has yet filed a confirmed flight schedule with India's aviation regulator, the DGCA.

Domestic service began with an IndiGo flight from Lucknow in June, and the airport has since built out routes to cities including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Goa, Varanasi, Bhopal and Jammu. On the international side, Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines signed non-binding memorandums of understanding with the airport's operator in November 2024 pointing toward Zurich, Singapore and Dubai as likely inaugural international routes, but as of this report neither carrier has opened bookings or filed a schedule, so travellers should treat any specific international route or date as provisional until an airline confirms it directly.

Why it matters for Delhi-NCR travellers

Once international flights begin, Jewar would give the wider Delhi-NCR region, particularly Noida, Greater Noida and western Uttar Pradesh, a second long-haul gateway alongside Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, potentially easing congestion on some of India's busiest international routes and cutting travel time for passengers based on the NCR's eastern side.
