China Southern Airlines resumed daily nonstop flights between Delhi and Guangzhou on 21 September 2026, ending a suspension on the route that had lasted six years. The airline now operates one round trip a day using Boeing 737 aircraft, flying as CZ359 from Guangzhou and CZ360 on the return leg from Delhi.

What's changing

Flight CZ359 departs Guangzhou in the mid-afternoon and lands in Delhi in the early evening; the return, CZ360, leaves Delhi at night and arrives in Guangzhou the following morning. China Southern is now the third major Chinese carrier to restore direct India service, following China Eastern's Shanghai-Delhi route and Air China's earlier resumption, as flight capacity between the two countries continues to rebuild after years of minimal direct connectivity.

Why it matters for Indian travellers

Guangzhou is a major hub for China Southern's onward network, and a direct Delhi service gives Indian travellers a more direct connection into southern China and, via transit, to Southeast Asia and Australia without routing through a third country. It also adds capacity on a route that had relied on indirect connections for several years, which should widen fare and schedule choice for both business and leisure travel between the two countries.

What to check before booking

Indian passport holders still require a visa for China; the route's resumption does not change entry requirements. Schedules on newly restored international routes can shift in their first weeks of operation, so confirm current flight timings and fares directly with China Southern Airlines or a travel agent, and check the latest Chinese visa requirements with an authorised visa centre before booking.
