British Airways' third daily service between Delhi and London Heathrow began operating on 20 September 2026, adding a fresh frequency to what was already the airline's busiest India route. The extra flight is operated with British Airways' Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, the same aircraft type used across its existing Delhi services.
What's changing
With the added frequency, British Airways will run up to 70 weekly flights between India and London Heathrow through the coming winter season, an increase of roughly 25 per cent in capacity on the route compared with the previous year. The move adds to a broader run of capacity increases on India-UK air routes over the past year as demand between the two countries continues to grow.

Why it matters for Indian travellers
The extra frequency comes as the UK-India free trade agreement has come into force, a deal both governments have linked to closer business, trade and tourism ties between the two countries. A third daily flight gives travellers more scheduling flexibility on one of the highest-demand long-haul routes out of Delhi, and additional seats on the route can also help ease fares during peak booking periods such as the December and January travel season.
What to check before booking
Exact departure times for the new third daily flight, and any related changes to connecting itineraries via Heathrow, are best confirmed directly with British Airways or a travel agent, since schedules on newly added frequencies can be adjusted in their first weeks of operation. Standard UK visa requirements for Indian passport holders are unchanged by this schedule addition.
