Air India Express Adds Six New Domestic Destinations From September 2026
Air India Express has added Aurangabad, Coimbatore, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Madurai and Tirupati to its network from 1 September 2026, alongside more frequent flights on the Delhi-Bhubaneswar, Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Kochi and Delhi-Varanasi routes.
Sep 24, 2026 · BigTravel.inAir India Express has expanded its domestic network from 1 September 2026, adding six new destinations and increasing frequencies on four existing Delhi routes, according to the airline’s own announcements and multiple aviation trade reports. The changes take the low-cost carrier’s network to 64 destinations.
Six new destinations
The new cities joining the network are Aurangabad, Coimbatore, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Madurai and Tirupati. Reported frequencies have two daily flights each between Aurangabad and Delhi, Coimbatore and Mumbai, and Jamnagar and Mumbai, alongside daily services linking Jodhpur with both Delhi and Mumbai, Madurai with Chennai, and Tirupati with Hyderabad.
More flights on existing Delhi routes
Alongside the new destinations, Air India Express is adding frequencies on four routes out of Delhi: Delhi-Bhubaneswar and Delhi-Patna are reported to rise to four daily flights each, while Delhi-Kochi and Delhi-Varanasi move to two daily flights.
Why it matters for travellers
The additions widen direct, low-cost connections between several tier-2 cities and India’s two largest metro hubs, potentially cutting a connecting flight out of itineraries between places like Jamnagar and Mumbai, or Madurai and Chennai, that previously relied on less direct routings. As with any newly launched schedule, initial frequencies and specific flight timings can shift in the weeks after launch.
Traveller tips
- Confirm current schedules and fares for any of these routes directly on Air India Express’s official site or app before booking, since newly launched frequencies can be adjusted after the initial rollout.
- Travellers connecting onward from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai or Hyderabad should build in buffer time on newly added routes until on-time performance data is established.
- Fare sales often accompany new route launches; compare against existing full-service options on the same city pairs before booking.
- This summary reflects airline and trade-press reporting as of late September 2026; always verify against Air India Express’s official channels closer to your travel date.
